Rome Protocol
Rome Protocol brings Canton assets to Solana's users, wallets and liquidity, while the asset, its rules and its records stay on Canton.
Janus Rome Solana EVM for Canton is an EVM chain that runs as a sidecar next to a Canton participant through the external call. Canton orders every Rome transaction, each confirmer recomputes it on its own replica, and Solana applies the result only after Canton commits. Issuance, eligibility and release stay under the issuer's control on Canton.
Status: live on devnet, used from EVM wallets today, with a Canton token-standard (CIP-0056) holding as the backing. Solana wallets and USDC on Solana as the cash leg are in development. Our validator, party rome-protocol, is onboarded to Canton DevNet.
